Attorney Brian Smith of Phoenix; ethical misfit

The state of Arizona presented Brian Edward Smith with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Brian guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Improperly used trust funds to pay continuing legal education
  • Failed to produce trust account records as proof of earned fees
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Brian by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. March 2015) Brian practices with the Arizona Corporation Commission Legal Division at 1200 West Washington in Phoenix, Arizona.
