Judge Thomas Kistler of Bellefonte, PA; bigoted loser

The state of Pennsylvania presented Thomas King Kistler with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Penn State University Law School.

Judge Kistler is the Centre County President Judge who was nominated for a seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court by Gov. Tom Wolf. However, Tommy withdrew his nomination after the following information became public regarding emails he authored.

The email sent by Bobby contained a phony Christmas card that depicted an African-American couple during what appears to be a prison visit, with the caption “Merry Christmas from the Johnsons.” Bobby forwarded the racist email to at least 20 prosecutors and courthouse employees.

In a lame effort at levity, Judge Kistler defendant his bigoted conduct by saying the email was not intended to be offensive. Clearly Judge Kistler missed his calling as a standup comedian.

No ethics charges have yet to be lodged against Kistler for his bigoted comments. Given the sorry record of the New York Judicial Commission, Kistler doesn’t have much to worry about. Even if they took any action against him, at most he’d receive a complimentary admonition.

As we speak (ca. February 2015), Judge Kistler remains on the bench as Centre County President Judge in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania.
