Attorney Matthew Works of Topeka; ethical dwarf

The sate of Kansas presented Matthew Bruce Works with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Washburn University Law School.

The Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to act fairly when dealing with opposing party and counsel

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Matty’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received three (3) complimentary admonishments for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Matty.
