Attorney W. Wes Teel of Gulfport, MS; ethical goblin

The state of Mississippi presented W. Wes Teel with a law licen se  in 1975 after he graduated from Harvard University Law School.

The Louisiana Commission on Judicial Performance found Wes guilty of the following misconduct that took place while he was a sitting judge.

  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Submitted bills for reimbursement that he never paid (thief)
  • When reimbursed for expenses he deposited checks in personal checking account
  • Failed to pay any vendors for outstanding bills wherein he was reimbursed

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Wes by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
