The District of Columbia presented Michael Leon Avery Sr. with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the Washington College of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to provide competent representation (imbecile)
• Failed to return client files to client after being
• Failed to provide client with written contingent fee agreement
• Failed to protect client interests after being fired
• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to allow client to make informed decisions regarding the representation

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Court of Appeals Board punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
