► Attorney Arthur Luxenberg of New York City; enabler for crooked politician

The state of New York presented Sheldon Silver with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.

Arthur co-founded the Weitz Luxenberg law firm in 1986 along with Perry Weitz. 

The Weitz firm under the direction of Arthur and others were allegedly involved in a scam along with New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver wherein Silver accepted millions in payoffs to steer legal work to the Weitz firm.

In January 2015, Sheldon Silver was arrested and charged with several felonies, some of which are directly linked to the phantom legal services he provide to the Weitz firm. Additional information regarding Sheldon Silver can be found by visiting the URL listed at the end of this article.

I should think that it won’t be long before U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara files criminal charges against Arthur. And if he doesn’t, we will likely be witness to Arthur making a deal with Mr. Bharara in exchange for his testimony against Sheldon Silver.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Arthur continues to practice law with the Weitz & Luxenberg firm at 700 Broadway in New York, New York.
