Attorney Duane Okken of Scottsdale; ethical gremlin
The state of Arizona presented Duane E. Okken with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.
The Arizona State Bar found Duane guilty of the following misconduct.
- Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
- Bad faith obstruction of disciplinary process (Up yours, said Duane!)
- Misconduct involved multiple offenses
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to communicate with clients
- Failed to take necessary steps to protect client’s interest after being discharged
- Failed to expedite litigation
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Duane by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. February 2015) Duane practices at 8514 East Montecito in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Caution: Duane does not carry legal malpractice insurance
