Attorney Therese Garza of Chicago; ethical gremlin

The state of Illinois presented Therese Cesar Garza with a law license in 1981.

The Disciplinary Commission found Therese guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate plea offers to at least 3 criminal defendants
  • Revealed confidential information relating to 3 clients
  • Engaged in several episodes of making comments or engaging in behavior that disrupted a trial court

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Therese by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2015), Therese is employed by the Cook County Public Defender’s Office at 69 West Washington Street in Chicago, Illinois.
