Attorney Stephen Sokolic of Cherry Hill, NJ; thieving convict

The state of Pennsylvania presented Stephen E. Sokolic with a law license in 1975.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Stephen guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Involved in pension fraud and embezzlement scheme
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonest or misrepresentation
  • Prepared or caused to be prepared false documents
  • Backdated a trust document
  • Submitted false and misleading letter to bankruptcy court judge
  • Engaged in a scheme to defraud pensioners

Stephen subsequently entered a plea of guilty of causing documents that contained false statements and misrepresentations, which documents were required to be kept as part of records of an employee pension benefit plant by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1874.

Stephen was later sentenced to five years probation, six months home confinement under electronic monitoring, and ordered to pay $42,500 in restitution.

As a consequence of his of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court punished Stephen by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2015) Stephen practices with Benefit Consultants Group at 51 Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
