Attorney Michael McLaughlin of Newport, WA; ethical gremlin

The state of Washington presented Michael John McLaughlin with a law license in 1983 after he graduated from Gonzaga University Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client property
• Failed to properly supervise office staff
• Failed to maintain required trust account records
• Failed to reconcile trust accounts
• Negligence led to thefts of trust account funds by office staff
• Provided inaccurate register to ethics investigators
• Failed to maintain accurate client trust account records as required
• Failed to promptly pay funds to clients were entitled to receive

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington State Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with another complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2014), Mike practices at 312 South Washington Avenue in Newport, Washington.
