Attorney Teddy Sliwinski of Cleveland; ethical leprechaun

The state of Ohio presented Teddy Sliwinski with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association found Teddy guilty of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 12-month suspension of his law license.

  • Failed to provide client with written contingent fee agreement
  • Failed to promptly refund unearned fee
  • Failed to keep complete records of trust account
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Never filed bankruptcy petition on client’s behalf as promised
  • Refused to refund $299 bankruptcy filing fee to client despite the fact that he never filed the petition for the client
  • Failed to maintain separate trust account records for each client
  • Failed to perform required monthly reconciliations of client funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Teddy.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Teddy practices at 5800 Fleet Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.
