Attorney Scott Schwartz of Wethersfield, CT; ethical leprechaun
The state of Connecticut provided Scott Michael Schwartz with a law license in 2003.
The Statewide Grievance Committee found Scotty guilty of the following misconduct.
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to comply with opposing parties discovery requests
- Failed to object to motion to dismiss client’s lawsuit
- Scotty’s negligence led to client’s case being dismissed
- Abandoned client by failing to perform any work on client’s behalf
- Failed to attend hearing on client’s behalf
- Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
- Failed to respond to client requests for information
- Failed to reply to repeated client phone calls
- Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
- Lied to his client that his lawsuit was proceeding smoothly when in fact it had been dismissed
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
- Failed to respond to ethics complaint (Up yours, said Scotty!)
As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Scotty by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. November 2014) Scotty practices with the Schwartz Law Office at 415 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
