Attorney Gail Thompson of Cleveland, MS; repeat offender

The state of Mississippi presented Gail P. Thompson with a law license in 1990.

The Mississippi State Bar Association found Gail guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
  • Failed to refund unearned fee
  • Failed to repay $3,000 to client as ordered by court
  • Failed to respond to repeated calls from client
  • Mishandled client funds
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Assisted non-attorney in the illegal practice of law

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Gail’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary reprimand and one 18-month suspension of his law license for engaging in variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Mississippi Supreme Court punished Gail by gifting him with a complimentary 30-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Gail is employed as a Staff Attorney at the Circuit Court in Cleveland, Mississippi.
