Attorney Jonathan Olcott of Phoenix; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented Jonathan Olcott with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Georgetown University Law School. 

The Arizona State Bar found Jon guilty of the following misconduct.

Jon’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to advise former law firm he had received and negotiated settlement check in which former law firm had an interest
• Failed to petition probate court to establish conservatorship as the law required
• Failed to address medical and other claims filed against settlement funds prior to distributing the funds to his law firm
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jon by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Jon’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Jon represented homeowner associations in collecting association dues and/or assessments under contingency fee agreements.

Jon filed affidavits supporting fee petitions with the court without reviewing them. The affidavits were false in that Jon did not, as stated in the affidavits, have personal knowledge of the facts contained therein.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Jon by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Because Attorney Misfits in Arizona are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Jon was never criminally charged with perjury.
