Attorney Chester Lockwood Jr. of Apache Junction, AZ; repeater

The state of Arizona presented Chester R. Lockwood Jr. with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Chester guilty of the following misconduct.

Chester’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to adequately communicate with client
  • Failed to refund unearned fees (cheater)
  • Failed to provide client’s file to new attorney after client fired him
  • Failed to provide client with accounting re: claimed fees

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Chester by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

In one matter, Chester represented a client in a divorce from her husband. During the representation, Chester leaned details about the client’s drug usage and drug history. Shortly thereafter, Chester began a sexual relationship with the client. At the same time, Chester began acting as a de facto (in fact) father to the client’s daughter.

The client’s divorce case ended with dissolution of marriage. Chester failed to file a petition to withdraw and remained as attorney of record on the case. About two years later, Chester filed a petition for custody against his former client in the same divorce case and sought temporary custody of the client’s daughter.

In seeking custody of the client’s daughter, Dirty Chester used the information the client used drugs in his attempt to gain custody of her daughter.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Chester by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Chester practices in the Apache Junction, Arizona area.
