Attorney Kenneth Schatten of Atlanta; deadbeat loser

The state of Georgia provided Kenneth H. Schatten with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo Law School.

The State Bar of Georgia found Kenny guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Kenny represented a client in a divorce action and was paid a retainer of $2,727 to represent the client. Shortly thereafter, the client decided to reconcile with her husband and fired Kenny.

The client then asked for a refund of the unearned fees paid to Kenny. However, Kenny refused to refund the unearned fees when he was fired. Kenny had the chutzpah to defend his actions by claiming at the time he was fired he was unable to refund the unearned fees “due to his financial circumstances.”

Shortly thereafter, the client imitated a fee dispute, which led to an arbritation panel award of $4,727.50 in favor of the client and her father. Again, Kenny claimed he was unable to pay the award due to his alleged financial circumstances. Subsequently, the $4,727.50 award was confirmed in the Superior Court of Fulton County which entered a judgment against Kenny in April 2013.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Kenny practices at 6110 Peachtree Dunwoody Road in Atlanta, Georgia.
