Attorney Perry Ellis of Atlanta; ethical dwarf

The state of Georgia provided Perry Dean Ellis with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Emory University Law School.

The State Bar of Georgia found Perry guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Perry represented a client seeking workers’ compensation benefits. Subsequently, Perry determined that a medical opinion from an orthopedic hand specialist might enhance the chances of a significant recovery from the client’s employer. Perry’s office then sought a loan of $1,000 for the doctor’s upfront fee; however, an employee of Perry signed the client’s name to the loan document without his knowledge or consent.

Subsequently, the client discharged Perry. Perry then attempted to bill the client $1,000 for the loan to pay the doctor’s fee. The client refused and filed an ethics complaint stating that the never signed the loan document and never authorized Perry to obtain the loan.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Perry by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014) Perry practices with the Law Office of Perry Dean Ellis PC at 1355 Peachtree Street NE in Atlanta, Georgia.
