Attorney E. Roland Charles of Monroe, LA; ethical elf

The state of Louisiana presented E. Roland Charles with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Southern University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Roland guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Roland improperly settled a legal malpractice claim that was pending against him without first advising his client (victim) to seek independent legal advice.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Roland by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month stayed suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Roland.

As we speak (ca) November 2014) Roland practices at 172 Mary Ballard Road in Monroe, Louisiana.
