Tony Perkins: Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Tony. In the past, he has been the recipient of thirty-three (33) Awards in various categories and/or the subject of one (1) opinion piece. On a recent (10/14/14) airing of his comedy radio show, Family Research Council’s Chief Comic Tony Perkins lambasted supporters of marriage equality who he laughingly claimed were trying to “marginalize and silence those who support traditional marriage.

Tony went on to say that “marriage will be an issue on the campaign trail that “will not go away because it’s rooted in nature.”

Tony then said:

• “You can act like it’s not there, you can act like gravity doesn’t work, but I’m going to tell you it will catch up with you sooner or later and you are going to hit the ground and culturally we are going to hit the ground by ignoring the realities of marriage.”

Tony’s real problem with recent court decisions upholding marriage equality, is the fact that once it becomes a nonissue, he won’t be able to garner contributions to continue with his luxury lifestyle.

Put simply, Tony is fearful that the day will come when attacking members of the gay community will no longer be a profitable enterprise.

Congrats Tony; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Bigots”; you are far too humble.
