Attorney Ernest Bell of Nashville; ethical dwarf

The state of Tennessee provided Ernest Keith Bell with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Ernie guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Ernie filed a lawsuit on a fire insurance policy on a client’ behalf, but several months later he voluntary dismissed the lawsuit without ever notify his client.

Subsequently, Ernie re-filed the lawsuit, but a summary judgment was entered against his client based on the fact that the contractual statute of limitations contained in the insurance policy had lapsed.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Ernie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2014) Ernie practices at 500 James Robertson Parkway in Nashville, Tennessee.
