The DC Bar Counsel found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Doug’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to comply with client request for information
  • Failed to provide written notice of rate or basis of his fee

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Bar Counsel punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary admonition.

 

Doug’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to refund unearned fees (cheater)
  • Failed to release client file upon termination

  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to provide client with retainer agreement
  • Failed to provide client with statement re: scope of representation
