Attorney Peter Van Baalen of Phoenix; repeat offender

The state of Arizona presented Peter T. Van Baalen with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Ohio State University Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client property
  • Wrote checks on account with insufficient funds (rubber)
  • Failed to consistently reconcile trust account
  • Failed to record all trust account transactions promptly and completely
  • Failed to maintain accurate client ledgers

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Pete’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He had previously been disciplined for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. October 2014) Pete practices at 7000 North 16th Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona.
