Today’s “Moron” Award Winner
This isn’t the first Award presented to Liberty Counsel. In the past, it has been the recipient of three (3) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.
Harry Mihet is the senior litigation attorney for Liberty Counsel, which is an organization that laughingly claims to be a Christian Ministry dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and the family.
During a recent (09/17/14) discussion regarding a Satanic “Black Mass” that is scheduled to take place in Oklahoma City on September 21, 2014, Harry stated that the event should be cancelled because it may “offend” people.
Harry went on to assert that Oklahoma City should not allow public facilities to be “used by a satanic group for the sole purpose of mocking, insulting and offending other faiths through a lewd and lascivious ceremony.’ Harry then said:
“The perverted sexual deviance characteristic of a ‘Black Mass’ ought to remain in the dark tombs and catacombs where it originated, and should not see the light of day in a civilized society, much less on public property.”
Harry and his group of bigoted morons find it perfectly acceptable to spew forth an assortment of hate speech aimed at members of the gay community. And they do so under the guise of being God-fearing Christians. Making matters worse, they do so as a so-called non-profit organization, meaning the members of the gay community they cheerfully attack are made to underwrite their hate speech by paying taxes this bigoted group and those that make contributions don’t have to pay.
And lastly, proving that Harry is a Certified Hypocrite, in the past he and/or Liberty Counsel argued in the past by citing former Justice William Brennan’s statements that “If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that the government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable.
Apparently, Harry and those of his ilk believe that the First Amendment only applies to bigots, charlatans and/or Rev. Jimmy Swaggart Wannabees.
Congrats Harry; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Accomplished “Morons”; you are far too humble.
