Attorney Linda Mitchell of Houma, LA; ethical misfit

The state of Louisiana presented Linda A. Mitchell with a law license in 1978 after she graduated from Tulane University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Linda guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Linda!)
  • Client’s lawsuit dismissed due to Linda’s negligence
  • Misconduct resulted in actual injury to client (victim)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Linda by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Linda practices at 1012 West Tunnel Blvd in Houma, Louisiana.
