Attorney Robert Rothstein of Chicago; ethical goblin

The state of Illinois presented Robert Michael Rothstein with a law license in 1984 after he graduated from DePaul University Law School.

The Disciplinary Commission found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Bobby found it acceptable to illegally assist his brother-in-law, a suspended lawyer, in the illegal practice of law by allowing him to participate in at least three real estate transactions, negotiate with opposing counsel, and modify contracts.

In addition, Bobby also illegally shared attorney fees with his brother-in-law.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
