Attorney Charles Bates of Waynesboro, TN; ethical goblin

The state of Tennessee provided Charles Matthew Bates with a law license in 2001.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Faield to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to expedite client’s litigation
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to act with candor in dealing with trial court
  • Settled case without obtaining client’s permission

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Charlie practices at 120 Public Square in Waynesboro, Tennessee.
