Judge Michael Lester of Buckeye, AZ; ethical misfit

The state of Arizona presented Michael A. Lester with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from Arizona State University Law School.

The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act in a manner that promotes public confidence in integrity of judiciary
  • Failed to perform all judicial duties fairly
  • Exhibited bias or prejudice
  • Gave his endorsement to defendant’s criminal conduct

During the time Steven Riddle was accepting a plea for assault, Mike told the defendant that he had no problem with the defendant punching the victim.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2014) Mike continues to sit as a Judge in the Buckeye Magistrate Court in Buckeye, Arizona.
