Attorney Samuel Cahnman of Springfield, IL; lying loser

The state of Illinois presented Samuel J. Cahnman with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Illinois Law School. 

The Disciplinary Commission found Sammy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Sammy was found guilty of intentionally misled a judge about how he, Mr. Cahnman, had come into possession of a copy of a page of the judge’s private calendar book.

In another matter, Sammy was alleged to have solicited a sexual act from undercover police officers. He also groped a woman prisoner at the Sangamon County Jail.

As a consequence of his misconduct the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Sammy by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (August 2014), Sammy practices at 915 South Second Street in Springfield, Illinois.
