Attorney Culver Barr of Hamlin, NY; drunken bully

The state of New York presented Culver K. Barr with a law license in 1961 after he graduated from Albany Law School.

The New York Judicial Commission found Culver guilty of the following misconduct during the time he was a Judge on the County Court in Monroe County.

While being arrested in Palmyra, New York for driving under the influence (DUI) and Failure to keep Right, Barr repeatedly made the following statements to the arresting officers.

  • I’m a Monroe County Court Judge
  • As a judge, I want consideration
  • Asked Officer Baker: “Do you realize who I am?”
  • My reputation would be adversely affected by this arrest
  • Told trooper if he didn’t arrest him, he’d give the trooper “anything

In addition, Barr (a) refused to take a field sobriety test, (b) refused to take breathalyzer test at the New York State Police substation in Newark, New York. Culver then went on to tell the officers:

  • “I don’t get mad, I just get even”
  • A County Court judge should not be subject to arrest”

Eight (8) months later, Barr was again arrested in the town of Chili, New York on charges of driving under the influence (DUI), refusal to take a breath test and moving from a lane unsafely.

During his arrest, Barr:

  • Repeatedly told the arresting officers that he was a Monroe County Judge and that he wanted “consideration”
  • Refused to enter Sheriff’s processing van to be fingerprinted and processed
  • Repeatedly refused to take a breathalyzer test
  • Stated “Fuck You” to arresting officers after being told he was going to be handcuffed for failing to cooperate
  • Told arresting officers that he hoped he would “have the opportunity to repay this back someday”

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits on the Judicial Commission punished Culver by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2014), Culver practices at 7854 Newco Drive in Hamlin, New York.
