Attorney Jonathan Cherry of Toledo; bush-leaguer as to ethics and intellectualism

Unfortunately, for the untold victims of attorney/judicial abuses in the greater Toledo, Ohio area, Mr. Jonathan Cherry was appointed as Bar Counsel in regards to attorney/judicial grievances years ago.

Prior to such appointment, Jonathan Cherry was awell-recognized by his peers as a grossly incompetent attorney. Put simply, had he not been appointed to this position, Jonathan Cherry likely would have been lucky to have secured a job as a greeter at the Wal-Mart store on Airport Highway in Toledo. Even Wal-mart has standards!

As part and parcel of his application for this position, Mr. Cherry cheerfully and obediently acceded to the demands put forth by Ohio’s Chief Disciplinary Counsel Jonathan Coughlan (aka, enabler and apoligist) and his immediate superior and soul-mate, Chief Justice Thomas Moyer, some of which are as follows:
  • Agreed to personally incur the costs to purchase a set of “industrial strength knee pads”
  • Deferred ruling on any evidence of misconduct by judges/attorneys without first receiving a ‘green light” from Jonathan Coughlan or Chief Justice Thomas Moyer to proceed
  • Accepted demands from Chief Justice Moyer to ignore misconduct if it involved one of their associates and/or contributors
After agreeing to the demands of Chief Justice Thomas Moyer and/or his handpicked bootlicker, Jonathan Coughlan immediately accepted Cherry's application.

Subsequently, and in keeping with his pledge to Chief Justice Thomas Moyer to do his bidding, Jonathan Cherry cheerfully ignored the following misconduct of local Toledo attorneys.
  • Attorney E.J. Leizerman and/or David R. Pheils repeatedly giving perjured testimony (Is there another kind!)
  • Retired Judge Stephen Yarbrough repeatedly defrauding the State and Lucas County by billing for hours he never worked and/or travel expenses he never incurred
  • Attorney David R. Pheils falsely claiming he spent 60 minutes reading 22 words and suing for $150 in attorney fees
  • Toledo attorney Marshall D. Wisniewski suing to collect pro se attorney fees of over $500 for time spent responding to grievances filed with Jonathon Cherry
  • Attorney E.J. Leizerman perpetrating numerous frauds on judges in Monroe and Detroit, MI, Toledo, Ohio and Nashville, TN
On each and every occasion, Jonathon Cherry ruled in writing that he could find absolutely no evidence of attorney/judicial misconduct, a conclusion which of course doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test.

However, to be fair to Jonathan Cherry he found himself between the proverbial “rock and a hard place,” when he applied for this position. Due to his knowledge that no self-respecting law firm in Toledo was about to offer him a job he recognized that in order to support himself and/or his immediate family, it was necessary for him to don a pair of knee pads and act as an enabler and apologist for Chief Justice Thomas Moyer, and more importantly to agree to religiously follow any and all orders from Chief Disciplinary Counsel Jonathon Coughlan.

In this respect, Jonathon Cherry has been a smashing success. Of course this doesn’t ameliorate the unspeakable and irreversible damages visited upon the victims of attorneys David R. Pheils, Jr. and/or his “significant other,” Mr. E. J. Leizerman.

All this proves is that Jonathon Cherry is an unapologetic psychopath in the mode of: Albert “The Madhatter” Anastasia, “

Jonathon Cherry’s Lame Attempt to justify his Undeserved Salary

As is my wont and when justified in accordance with the integrity imposed upon journalists, it is my policy to give credit where it is deserved.

In the early 200s, during the winter months in Toledo, I specifically recall witnessing Jonathon Cherry shoveling snow off the sidewalk in front of the Toledo Bar Assn in downtown Toledo—which may well have been his finest work to date.
When Toledo Judge Charles Doneghy commented to me several years ago that Jonathan Cherry
