Judge Joseph Doherty of Danbury, CT; tax scofflaw

The state of Connecticut provided Joseph W. Doherty with a law license in 19

The Judicial Review Council found Joey guilty of the following misconduct.

Over the course of several years, Joey found it acceptable to not file federal income tax returns. He also failed to file Connecticut state income tax returns for the same period of time.

Because Judicial Misfits in Connecticut are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Joey was never criminally charged for tax evasion.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Review Council punished Joey by gifting him with a complimentary 5-day suspension from the bench.

As we speak (ca. July 2014), Joey continues to sit as a Superior Court Judge in Danbury, Connecticut.
