Attorney Jeffrey Smith of Stuart, FL; ethical misfit

The state of Florida provided Jeffrey Anak Smith with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Stetson University Law School.

The Florida State Bar found Jeff guilty of the following misconduct.

Over the course of 2 years, Jeff engaged in an improper course of conduct involving loan modification matters, resulting in numerous client complaints.

Jeff failed to adequately supervise non-lawyer employees who were assigned to work on the cases and he failed to diligently represent and communicate with his clients regarding their loan modifications.

Jeff’s incompetence led to him being ordered to pay restitution of $62,300 to 26 clients and participate in fee arbitration with another 40 clients (victims)

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Jeff by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2014) Jeff practices at 736 Colorado Avenue in Stuart, Florida.
