The state of Kansas presented Daniel Heath Lampson with a law license in 2000.
The Kansas Disciplinary Board found Danny guilty of the following misconduct.
- Failed to communicate with client
- Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
- Failed to abide by client’s decisions re: settlement of divorce case
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
- Failed to respond to client request for information
- Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Danny!)
- Failed to communicate basis for rate of fee to client
- Failed to safeguard client property
- Commingled client funds with personal funds
- Converted $16,477 of client funds for personal use
- Knowingly made a false statement of material fact
- Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
- Misconduct involved multiple offenses
- Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
- Bad faith obstruction of disciplinary process
As a consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Kansas Supreme Court punished Danny by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. July 2014) Danny practices with the Southeast Kansas Public Defender’s Office at 200 Arco Place in Independence, Kansas.
