Attorney Paul Peck of Portland, ME; ethical misfit

The state of Maine presented Paul E. Peck with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Louisiana State University (LSU) of Law School.

The Maine Board of Overseers found Paul guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Paul failed to take “immediate and effective” action after leaning that a GMAC Mortgage employee was signing thousands of legal documents to foreclose on people’s homes without checking first to see if the documents were accurate and without having the papers authenticated.

Paul, who represented GMAC, was part of the national attention that focused on the practice of robo-singing that led to the temporary suspension of foreclosures by GMAC and other mortgage lenders throughout the country.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maine Board of Overseers punished Paul by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. .

As we speak (June 2014), Paul practices at One Monument Way in Portland, Maine.
