State Rep. Scott Wagner (R-PA): Today’s Moron Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Rep. Scott Wagner (R-PA)

Today’s Moron Award Winner

Scotty succeeded in duping the voters in the York area into electing him to the Pennsylvania State Senate in March 2014.

Scotty is the owner of Penn Waste and KBS Trucking in Thomasville. Apparently, Scotty’s business interests caused him to have total contempt and hatred for unions and union workers.

During a recent 06/04/14) anti-union rant, Scotty compared unions to Adolph Hitler and Vladimir Putin during a debate that would prohibit government employers from automatically deducting union fees from employee paychecks. Scotty then said:

  • “The unions are about power and control.”
  • “And there are two things that I continue to remember about power and control.”
  • “There was a gentleman by the name of Hitler; he was about power and control.”
  • “There’s a gentleman by the name of Putin, who’s across the ocean, that’s about power and control.”

Not satisfied demonizing unions and union workers, Scotty followed up his rant by attacking the unemployed by insinuating that they were too lazy to find jobs. In explaining why they can’t find work, Scotty said:

  • “You would have to have an alarm clock and you would have to be able to get out of bed.”
  • “You would have to be able to pass a drug test and you would have to have some work ethic.”

To suggest that Union leaders and/or workers are in a league with Hitler and Putin is a disgusting attack on hard working Americans. I personally take offense at Scotty's defamatory comments since I was a Chief Union Steward for a factory in Toledo in the early 1970s.

If a union worker authorizes his employer, government or otherwise to deduct his/her union dues from their paycheck, what business is that of Scotty and/or those of his ilk? Scotty laughingly claims he is for small government; however, when he can stick his significant snout in the business of union workers and their employer, he is more than happy to do so.

To be fair and unbiased Scotty, you should introduce legislation prohibiting publicly-held corporations from spending any money on political campaigns without the prior written approval of every stockholder. After all, any contributions come by way of reduced profits and end-of-the-year stock dividends. Put simply, what’s good for the goose (Union workers) should be good for the gander (Corporate bosses), right Scotty?

Congrats Scotty; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
