The state of Massachusetts presented Bernard D. Pemstein with a law license in 1964 after he graduated from Boston University Law School.

The Board of Bar Overseers found Bernie guilty of the following misconduct.

1. Intentionally misappropriated (stole) $7,000 in escrow funds
2. Used client funds to reduce overdrawn credit line on his personal bank account
3. Failed to provide client with required status of client funds
4. Intentionally took advantage of a vulnerable elderly woman (prefers comatose clients)
5. Gave misleading, deceptive or evasive testimony during disciplinary hearing

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Board of Overseers punished Bernie by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.
