State Rep. Nicholas Marshall (R-MO): Today’s Moron Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Rep. Nicholas Marshall (R-TX)

Today’s Moron Award Winner

Nicky is another attorney loser who found it financially rewarding to obtain a job as an elected official. In this instance, Nicky duped the voters in November 2010 to elect him as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives.

Due to the fact that he has been unable to impress anyone in the legislature that he is capable of representing the best interests of his constituents, Nicky decided it was time to do something to get his name in the news. Towards that end, Nicky proposed legislation to impeach Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon.

Nicky the Moron based his laughable impeachment legislation on the fact that Gov. Nixon had announced that same-sex couples could file state tax returns jointly, thereby allowing them to receive the same tax breaks as straight couples.

Immediately after Gov Nixon’s announcement, Nicky called for his impeaching by saying that he had violated the state constitution, which say a marriage “shall exist only between a man and a woman” to be “valid and recognized in this state.”

Brian Calfano, Law Professor at Missouri State University, said that Gov. Nixon’s order did not violate the state constitution. Professor Calfano went on to say, “If you have a contractual obligation in one state, other states have to recognize that, and that would include marriage.”

Apparently, when Nicky attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City Law School, they didn’t offer courses in constitutional law.

Missouri taxpayers are not being served well by being forced to pay Nicky the Dunce a $35,915 salary + $10,000 in per diem payments for the asinine services he proved to the state.

Given Nicky’s obvious need for a remedial course in basic legal principles, residents in the greater Kansas City, Missouri area might want to avoid seeking legal assistance from the Marshall & Zevenbergen Law Firm located at 5600 North Antioch Road in Gladstone, Missouri.

Congrats Nicky; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
