Attorney Abigail Askew of Bowie, MD; ethical misfit
The District of Columbia presented Abigail Askew with a law license in 2006.
The District of Columbia Court of Appeals found Abigail guilty of the following misconduct
- Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
- Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
- Failed to explain matter necessary to allow client to make informed decisions re: representation
- Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
- Failed to take necessary steps to protect client’s interests after being fired
- Knowingly disobeyed a court rule and/or order
- Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
As a consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the District of Columbia Court of Appeals punished Abigail by gifting her with a complimentary 30-day suspension of her law license.
As we speak (ca. April 2014), Abigail practices at 3806 Aynor Drive in Bowie, Maryland.
