Attorney Shane Rios of Bronx, NY; lying loser

The state of New York presented Shane Omar Rios with a law license in 2005 after he graduated from Fordham University Law School.

The First Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Shane guilty of the following misconduct.

Shortly after opening up a law office with attorney Daniel Levy, Shane and Danny were hired by a client who said she had been injured when falling on a church sidewalk.

Several months later, Shane and Danny were aware that the woman’s initial story was not sufficient to support a lawsuit, so they decided to assist the client to manufacture a false story to support alternative legal claim by “explaining” the law to her.

The compliant and equally greedy client cheerfully changed her story and Shane and Danny filed a lawsuit against a new defendant who owned a home across the street from the church.

Because Shane and Danny were lacking prior trial experience, they brought in another attorney to assist in conducting the trial. To assure that the new attorney did not learn that they had coached the client to change her story Shane and Danny removed documents from the file that would have shown that they had initially pursued a claim against the church.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the First Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Shane by gifting him with a 9-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (April 2014), Shane practices with Rios & Levy, LLP at 3140 East Tremont Avenue, in Bronx, New York.
