Attorney Robert Johnston of Oklahoma City; serial offender

The state of Oklahoma presented Robert L. Johnston with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.

Bobby’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to competently represent client (Dufus)
• Faield to communicate with clients
• Made false statement to trial court
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Converted clients funds to personal use

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary 120-day suspension of his law license. 

Bobby’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Misrepresented his status as a licensed attorney
• Engaged in unprofessional conduct
• Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Bobby by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Bobby’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

Bobby was convicted on five counts of drug related federal criminal offenses. He was sentenced to prison for a term of 26 months, followed by a 3 year term of supervised release.

The charges included one count of attempting to possess a steroid, a misdemeanor; three counts of use of a telephone to facilitate distribution of marijuana, and one felony count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Oklahoma Supreme Court accepted Bobby’s resignation of his law license.

Unbelievably, several years later the comedians sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court reinstated Bobby’s law license. Apparently, they felt he had a right to earn a dishonest living as a practicing attorney.
