Attorney Calvin True of Bangor, ME; ethical dwarf

The state of Maine presented Calvin E. True with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Northeastern University Law School.

The Maine Grievance Commission found Calvin guilty of the following misconduct.

Engaged in conduct involving fraud, dishonesty, deceit or misrepresentation

Engaged in a conflict of interest

In one matter, Calvin found it acceptable to overbill clients by about $8,500 during the sale of timberlands valued at $25 million from an estate.

In another matter, Calvin improperly used [misappropriated] about $15,000 of the $1 million the buyer of a timberland parcel submitted as earnest money to pay staff bonuses and his son’s legal bills.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Calvin by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. March 2014), Calvin practices with Eaton Peabody 80 Exchange Street in Bangor, Maine.

On its self-serving website at www.eatonpeabody.com, the firm doesn’t make any mention of Calvin’s misconduct as aforementioned. Apparently, they decided to conceal the information so as to not limit their future victim pool.
