The state of Washington presented Dick with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Gonzaga University Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Dick guilty of the following misconduct.

1. Failed to act with due diligence
2. Failed to keep clients informed of status of their cases
3. Failed to provide requested copies of court orders to client
4. Failed to attend two court ordered status conferences
5. Two clients obtained legal malpractice judgments against Dick

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington State Supreme Court punished Dick by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
