Attorney Scott Wanner of Portsmouth, NH; ethical elf

The state of New Hampshire presented Scott A. Wanner with a law license in 2006 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School.

The Professional Conduct Committee on Professional Standards found Scotty guilty of the following misconduct.

At the time of his misconduct, Scotty was employed as an associate at Nadeau Legal, PLLC. One month after he was hired, Scotty had a sexual encounter with a woman (LF) who was the fiancé of attorney Robert Nadeau, a partner of the Nadeau firm. Occasionally, the woman also worked for the Nadeau firm. Scotty left the Nadeau firm without ever telling Robert Nadeau of his sexual relationship with LF.

Shortly after he left the Nadeau firm, Scotty he established an attorney-client relationship with Robert Nadeau. Scotty was hired by Nadeau to gather evidence in connection with Nadeau’s defense from a protection of abuse complaint filed against him by none other than LF (the woman that Scotty had sex with).

This is a rather novel twist on the term “screwing your client.”

As a consequence of his misconduct his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Conduct Committee punished Scotty by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
