Attorney Frank Liu of New York City; ethical misfit

The state of New York presented Frank Ruhua Liu with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from City University of New York Law School.

1. Failed to provide competent representation (Dufus)
2. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
3. Engaged in a pattern of submitting deficient briefs in immigration cases
4. Conduct placed client’s interests in significant peril
5. Failure to comply with rules led to significant inconvenience to court staff

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Disciplinary Commission punished Frank by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
