Attorney Michael Petersen of Portland; ethical misfit

The state of Oregon provided Michael James Petersen with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School.

The Oregon State Bar found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated his sworn duties to the legal profession
  • Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
  • Violated duties he owed to his client
  • Conduct caused actual injury to a party

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014) Mike practices at 7318 North Leavitt Avenue in Portland, Oregon.
