Attorney Joenathan Chaplin of Columbia, SC; ethical leprechaun

The State of South Carolina presented Joenathan Shelly Chaplin with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

Disciplinary Counsel of the South Carolina Supreme Court found Joenathan guilty of the following misconduct.

1. Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
2. Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
3. Charged an unreasonable fee (cheater)
4. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigation (Up Yours, said Joenathan!)
5. Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
6. Willfully failed to comply with decision of Fee Dispute Board

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Joenathan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Joenathan practices with the Law Office of Jonathan S. Chaplin at 4511 N. Main Street in Columbia, South Carolina.
