Attorney Charles Deters of Covington, KY; repeat offender

The state of Kentucky presented Charles Hugo Deters with a law license in 1953 after he graduated from the University of Cincinnati Law School.

The Kentucky Bar Association found Charles guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Made a statement that he knew was false re: qualifications of a judge
  • Repeatedly harassed prospective client with numerous unwanted calls
  • Failed to take reasonable steps to protect client’s interests
  • Failed to refund unearned fee (cheater)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Charlie’s First Bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Charles by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Charles practices with Deters, Benzinger & LaVelle, P.S.C. at 2701 Turkeyfoot Road in Covington, Kentucky.
