Attorney James Gay of Cleveland; ethical misfit
The state of Ohio presented James Arthur Gay with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.
The Cleveland Bar Association found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct
-
Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
-
Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
-
Failed to maintain complete records of client property
-
Failed to promptly pay client funds to client upon request
-
Failed to achieve lawful objectives of client
-
Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Jimmy!)
-
Failed to file mandatory inventory in probate matter
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
As we speak (ca. February 2014), Jimmy practices at 3324 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Cleveland, Ohio.
