State Rep. Lynn Luker (R-ID): Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Rep. Lynn Luker (R-ID)

Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

Lynn is another loser that found it difficult to earn a dishonest living as an attorney after he graduated from the University of Idaho Law School.

In November 2005, Lynn duped the voters in the greater Boise area into electing him as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives.

Recently (02/11/14) Lynn outlined a proposal that is backed by some of his fellow bigoted conservative Christian allies that would shield so-called religious people from the threat of losing their professional licenses for refusing service or employment to anyone they decided violated their religious beliefs.

The Bigot went on to say: “This [legislation] is pre-emptive. The issue is coming, whether it’s 10 years, or 15 years, or two years.”

Lynn’s unconstitutional legislation is supported by fellow Bigots associated with the Cornerstone Family Council, which supports passing laws to block people from “living out their faith.” Another supporter of Lynn’s is Focus on the Family (aka, Focus on the Wallet). Its executive comedy director Julie Lynde said:

  • “The free expression of religious freedom is no longer understood for what it was intended.”
  • “There’s a double standard against people of traditional religious faiths.”

Claiming a religious and/or constitutional right to engage in blatant discrimination against gays is of course laughable at best.

Hopefully, when the voters have had their fill of Lynn, they won’t be fooled into hiring him as an attorney. It’s obvious that Lynn knows absolutely nothing about the constitutional principles of due process and equal protection.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Lynn and those of his ilk would support legislation that would shield bus drivers from losing their jobs if they required African-Americans to ride in the back of the bus based on their religious beliefs.

Congrats Lynn; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Understood “Bigots”; organizations, you are far too humble.
