Tony Perkins: Today’s “Screwball” Award Winner

In a never ending effort to financially enrich himself by attacking the gay community, Family Research Council’s chief comedian Tony Perkins feigned outrage regarding a federal court ruling that requires

Kentucky to recognize same-sex marriages performed in states where it is legal.

In a recent (02/12/14) press release, Tony said the court’s decision represents a “deep betrayal of the judicial system infected with activist judges who are legislating from the bench” and threatens the freedom of speech.

Screwy Tony went on to say that marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples “will create a level of inequality that has never been seen in our country as people are forced to suppress or violate the basic teachings of their faith.”

As you can see, Tony the Phony is willing to laughingly claim that granting equal rights to gay couples is much worse than the racism visited on African-Americans during slavery.

Congrats Michele; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Screwballs”; you are far too humble.
